In recent years thermal imaging has become a hot commodity in the inspection arena, and rightly so as it’s an invaluable tool in fault detection that has been proved successful time and time again. Thermal Imaging, or Infrared Imaging is a sophisticated non-invasive method of detecting a myriad of faults and issues across a broad range of industries including; property structure inspections, animal & equine thermography, electrical faults, mechanical faults, and the list goes on. Sadly, many companies have hopped on the thermal imaging bandwagon just to say they have it. This poses a huge problem for a number of reasons. The first being equipment quality. Infrared cameras are expensive and the FLIR cameras Highpoint Solutions use are in the range of $45,000 - $60,000 each! Many operators will settle for a subpar infrared camera that won’t have anywhere near the capabilities and accuracy of a high-end camera. Secondly, many operators that do have a thermal imaging camera are not professionally trained and don’t have the experience in thermography. Being able to frame and capture a thermal image (thermogram) and then interpret the data takes great skill which is not gained through a weekend crash course. All of our trained technicians high the highest level training provided through the Infrared Training Centre at the University of Melbourne. Our equipment and our training is what separates us from the rest.
